Orange Guard is non-toxic insecticide that is diluted and sprayed onto the plants leafs and stems thus covering the insects that are present. The active ingredient is derived from oranges. Orange Guard is a water-based insecticide that kills and repels all garden pests including spider mites, aphids, white fly, thrips and many more. Oranges Guard’s formula has an Organic Materials Review Institute listing.(OMRI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to benefit the organic community and the general public). Insects can’t generate an inherited or acquired immunity to Orange Guard like they can with chemical insecticides since it does not affect their nervous system. It works by literally dissolving the outer cells of the insect’s exoskeleton and suffocation occurs. It repels insects because the dried Orange Guard spray enters into the insect’s air passages and irritation and pain occurs. It is safe to use on plants and above all safe for humans and pets. All ingredients meet the G.R.A.S. (generally recognized as safe) standard set by FDA. The active ingredients are approved by the FDA as a food additive and are found in products such as fruitcakes and beverages. It is 100% biodegradable and water-soluble. The product was stress tested for shelf life and proved to be effective for at least 2 years. It can be stored at normal room temperatures and can be applied at any temperature.
Some insect infestations may need 3 applications. Each application should be 3 days apart.
