Soil pH is an important consideration for farmers and gardeners for several reasons, including the fact that many plants and soil life forms prefer either alkaline or acidic conditions, that some diseases tend to thrive when the soil is alkaline or acidic, and that the pH can affect the availability of nutrients in the soil. Monitoring pH is an essential part of any successful garden. Whether you grow in soil or hydroonically you need to have an accurate pH meter.
Meters are to gardening as steering wheels are to cars. I would not want to mix up large batches of plant food without my meter. It is a must when gardening seriously to measure the food you feed your plants as they need more food each week of life...just like kids. Keeping your pH in your water stable will help encourage robust growth as well
as help maintain proper pH levels in your soil, most plant prefer a pH of 6-7 in soil.
